Still in my T-Drama world, I started a new short mini-series recently, Club Friday The Series True Love.
Club Friday The Series True Love is a series of short stories based on a radio program that goes by the name ‘Club Friday’. It is a place where people call to share their stories. These are true account of their life. Inspired by the true stories from the listeners, Club Friday TV has been a successful series. There are different story and cast in each episode.
My first episode, Club Friday The Series 8 True Love – True Love or Sympathy is the story of Mon (starring Popetorn Soonthornyanakij, ตู่-ภพธร), a blind but talented Radio DJ and Eyes (starring Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul, ใบเฟิร์น–พิมพ์ชนก ลือวิเศษไพบูลย์), a beautiful and rich girl whom also have a beautiful voice.
Mon, is a soft spoken radio DJ in a community radio station. Although he looks like a regular DJ, he is blind, something that no one know. He also like to listen to audio book that comes from the Blind Foundation. One of this favourite audio book has the voice of Eyes, a sweet voice that love to read to the blind regularly.
One day, both of them met in a blind date. He heard a voice and immediately recognised the voice that he had loved listening to. It is the woman who read his favourite audio book. He is not sure if he liked the book because of the content or because of her voice. But hearing it in real life, he was heartbroken as he wanted to get to know about her more but is not able to.
Both of them started communication through letters and Mon never dared to tell her that he is blind. Until one day, they met.
Mon and Eyes started seeing each other regularly and soon feel in love. While Mon was still unconvinced if Eyes truly loved him or is sympathy of him, the couple faced many challenges. For one, Eyes family could not accept Mon whom is blind.
Heartbreaking, Eyes and Mon separated. Eyes soon realised that she could not live without Mon and it is true love that she had for him. She tried to reach Mon whom by then is hiding from her. True perseverance, Eyes finally get to meet Mon face to face again only to faint from her fever that she was running that day.
Mon nursed Eyes back, proving himself to Eyes’s Grandmother that although he is blind, he is able to take good care of Eyes. Unfortunately, this was still not acceptable by Eyes’s mother whom told the daughter to go and try living with the poor and difficult life while taking care of a blind man.
Persevered, Eyes and Mon got back together and managed to beat all the challenges and obstacles in front of them.
A truly touching short story, this is indeed a short series that I had enjoyed. I love the way Mon gently explained to Eyes that he would feel out of place attending her company event together with her, only to turn up as a surprise by singing to her.
Club Friday The Series 8 True Love – True Love or Sympathy ended showing the couple still together even after 10 years.

It is indeed a touching and heart warming story. I only like this one so far from this series. The way Eyes was so adamant about wanting to be by Mon’s side despite the protest from all side. When Mon insist they separate, it was indeed heart-breaking watching both cry in their own corner. The determination both of them show is truly amazing.
