Chapter 63.2:

Lan Ning rubbed her nose and looked at him with a slight curved eye: ‘How did you managed to find me here?’

Yan Ru Yu gently raised his eyebrows and looked at the shoes on her feet. ‘I saw that you bought a pair of sneakers online. Which is the pair that you are wearing now. When we went to the gym last time, you mentioned that your shoes are new. I don’t think you will buy another pair so soon. So, this should be the clue that you left for me.’

Lan Ning blinked: ‘Even if I buy a pair of sneakers, it does not mean that I would be here.’

‘Buy sneakers, indicated that the place you are going is not suitable for wearing high heels. Then, it is most likely that it will be used to climb mountain. And there is one more point…..’ Yan Ru Yu bent over and picked up the ‘Countdown’ in her hand. ‘In this book, the male and female protagonists here have known each other on the mountain.’

Lan Ning applauded him. ‘It is indeed Teacher Xing Xin. This is good.’ She took back the ‘Countdown’ and open the book. There is a bookmark with dried flowers in it. This is the flower that she picked for Yan Ru Yu. ‘I was reading this book before I decided to go mountain climbing in Japan.’

‘That’s a coincidence.’ Yan Ru Yu whispered. ‘I also went to Japan to climb the mountain because I wrote this book.’

‘Countdown’ is his third single novel, arranged in chronological order, just before the ‘Death Message’ which is also the last book his previous editor completed for him.

‘Why did you choose this novel?’ He sat beside Lan Ning and looked at her sideways.

‘Um….’ Lan Ning thought for a while and said: ‘One, is because we also met on the mountain. And the other is, I think this book is different from your usual style.’

‘Countdown’ is not one of Yan Ru Yu’s many books bestseller. Most readers think that this story looks slightly blander than his other novels. Although the plot setting is still very clever, the pattern is too small, which limits the development of the story.

Yan Ru Yu smiled and said: ‘When a book is completed, this is no longer your own story. Many people put emotions into it. And sometimes readers even influence the ending. But for the author, it is not the story he originally wanted to write. If Enron detective series is written for readers, then ‘Countdown’ is written for me. It is written completely accordingly to my own preference without considering sales or the readers.’

Lan Ning still has a deep understanding of his words, at least more than one author, because the pressure of the reader, will modified the ending of the story. She held her knees for a moment and said to Yan Ru Yu. ‘So, Wu Yang will die in the end? If you write him to death, readers will certainly riot.’

Yan Ru Yu laughed helplessly. ‘So sometimes, author do get really tired.’ He stoof up from the ground and patted his pants. ‘But the priority now is to get to the wedding venue. It is almost time for the ceremony.’

‘Well.’ Lan Ning said with a smile. She returned him the suit jacket on her body and then stood up. ‘Is my dress dirty?’

Yan Ru Yu looked around her: ‘It is ok.’

‘Really?’ Lan Ning moved. ‘Fortunately, when I was choosing the wedding dress, I choose one that it a little big. Otherwise, I would be embarrassed when climbing the mountain today.’

‘So, don’t mess around.’

Lan Ning: ‘…..’

She picked up the skirt of the wedding dress, picked up the high heels set aside and rolled her eyes at Yan Ru Yu. ‘Let’s go.’

Yan Ru Yu helped her and walked down the mountain.

Lan Ning was still thinking about the story of ‘Countdown.’ The main character of the book sounded like Yan Ru Yu whom had parents that were divorced, and he never saw his mother again. She hesitated but still couldn’t help asking: ‘Doesn’t you feel sorry that your mother is not attending the wedding today?’

Yan Ru Yu was stunned and then replied calmly: ‘Some people, once left, it is good to let it remain gone for a lifetime.;

Lan Ning’s eyes moved slightly but she remained quiet.

Both of them walked around the mountain for more than ten or twenty minutes and then finally found that something is wrong. ‘How is the way down the mountain is not the same as when we were coming up!’

Lan Ning looked at Yan Ru Yu and frowned: ‘Don’t tell me that we got lost again!’

Its all because they were absent-minded just now that she could not have asked the question.

Yan Ru Yu looked at her sideways, with serious expression: ‘I never lost my way.’

Lan Ning: ‘…..’

Do you still want to argue currently?

‘Well, Mr Yan, who has never been lost, please take me down the mountain. We will missed our own wedding banquet soon!’ Lan Ning is truly regretting now.

When the wedding banquet is about to begin, the bride and groom were no where in sight…. Don’t even think about it anymore…. What a great picture!

Yan Ru Yu’s phone rang. It is a call from Shíjiǔ Zāi.

‘Where are both of you? The wedding reception is about to begin in half an hour! Are you two really getting ready to escape?’

Yan Ru Yu pursed his lips and calmly said: ‘We may not be able to come back. Can the wedding be remotely done?’

Shíjiǔ Zāi: ‘…..’

Lan Ning: ‘…..’

‘Oh, I’ll ask the emcee.’ Shíjiǔ Zāi snapped and hung up the phone.

Lan Ning was really anxious and asked in a panic: ‘What to do…. I will relly kill them! I will pit them like this when they get married!’

Yan Ru Yu said: ‘You think too much. I think they will definitely have no chance to get married.’

Lan Ning: ‘…..’

Too vicious 😊

After that, Yan Ru Yu received another phone call from his father. Both reluctantly shared that they went up the mountain. Do not know if they went up too far unknowingly or there was no one on the mountain as it is nearing lunch time. They did not even meet anyone who they could ask for direction.

Lan Ning gave up hope. ‘If I know, I would have held the wedding in the chuch down the mountain.’ Then maybe we could get there in time.

As she was speaking, the church bell rang.

Lan Ning: ‘….’

Gone… her wedding was completely ruined.

Borned without love.

Yan Ru Yu frowned, and then pulled Lan Ning over and smiled at her: ‘Since it is that way, we can only be self-sufficient.’

Before Lan Ning could respond, Yan Ru Yu took her hand and put it on his heart. ‘Ms Lan Ning, would you marry me and be my wife?’

‘Very willing.’ Yan Ru Yu bowed her head and kiss fell on her curved eyebrows.
