Thanks to tranzgeek review and announcement on A Slight Smile Is Devastating (微微一笑很倾城), I was anticipating eagerly for the drama to be launch. This lovely C-Novel by one of my favorite author, Gu Man initially was a little hard for me to understand as it is a novel about online gaming and the sweet story of Xiao Nai, the male lead and Bei Wei Wei, the female lead, however after reading it for the 2nd time, I finally could grasp my way around the novel.
I personally prefer the drama version with Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang vs the movie version. Who after all could resist the good looking Yang Yang and the pretty Zheng Shuang?
Finally, August 22, 2016 arrived and two episode of the drama was released. Although I am currently traveling, I ensure that I had time allocated daily to try to catch up the drama. I must admit that it is hard to catch up while traveling on the road with my camera, then writing about my travel adventure on my personal blog and trying to complete my offline journal about my travels too.
Since I could not find time to watch the drama, I eagerly awaits for the recap of each episode on Dreams of Jianghu – Recap of A Slight Smile Is Devastating, reading them while I travel from one place to the other.
Lucky for me, yesterday and today, our journey took over 1 hr each morning and evening, giving me the opportunity to catch up on the drama finally. So yes, I am back on track with the daily episodes as it is released online although it is RAW without any English Subtitle.
As much as I could understand spoken Mandarin and enjoying the drama to date, there are parts that I find it difficult to understand as the terms may be too deep for me especially those spoken in the game. So imagine my happiness when I found out that the drama is now available in with English Subtitles. So…. for those of your whom are interested in catching up on the drama and is awaiting for the English Subtitle, head over to Love O2O now! Enjoy the drama!
Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang are quite the pair 😉 I also fell in love with Boran from the movie 😛 but finally, finally the drama has come out!!!😍😍😍😘

Waah, thank you for this review and mentioning the English drama title “Love O2O” otherwise I might have missed this. I read the English translated novel from Lil’ Bliss, it was a beautiful translation and I was aware about the drama but I wasn’t following when it will be launch. It is now available at drama fever with 4 episodes up last time I checked.

I’ve watched both version, movie and drama.
Personally I really disliked zheng shuang (sorry for her fans) and I feel she’s miscast for wei wei …. but the positive side …. incredibly zheng shuang not irritated me in love 020 like her other drama that I dropped “cage of love” (despite how much I loves hawick T…T). Actually I try to avoid zheng shuang after “cage of love”.
I prefer angelababy as wei wei caused she really close with the description of wei wei from the novel.
For Xiao nai, absolutely it’s yang yang! Boran is handsome, but yang yang really nailed it, he perfectly like the description of Xiao nai from the novel.

I prefer the drama version than movie, the drama stick with the novel, and I really enjoyed the sisterhood and brotherhood at the drama cause in the movie not much interaction between the leads and their best friends.

Same here I’m allergic to her that’s why I’m still in doubt whether to start watching or not….but for the sake of Yang yang I’ll give a try😜

Me three… I was so disappointed when I found out that she would be Wei Wei. 😁😁 But to my surprise, she’s actually quite alright in the drama. I have watched until eps 5. I think her Wei Wei’s character in the drama is too bubbly and she seems to talk more in the drama versus the novel version. I suppose because of my dislike of her, I don’t have any high expectation for this drama, and thus, I’m happy to say that I’m enjoying it so far. However, her costume in the game world is horrendous and Xiao nai’s hair in the game world is also horrid. 😂😂
